BALL STARTER

Based on this information provided on this forum by Spence 10 on 5-27-17:
_Scloppetaria:_ by Capt. Henry Beaufroy, 1808 [Henry Benjamin Hanbury Beaufroy], originally published as “Scloppetaria, by a Corporal of Riflemen”

Here's his rammer:

This one I made has a solid 3/8 "brass rod with a HICKORY end piece. I drilled and tapped a 10 X 32 hole so that, if you wanted, you could screw in a jag to accommodate a larger ball. I will ship this to you for $18.50. I prefer PP F & F or MO, Check or Cash.

Thanks for looking,

I have one of these… although mines a bit different, I really really like it. It’s small enough it doesn’t take up much space and works very Well as a “ palm saver” for those stubborn loads.

I “maybe going to the well too often”, but ads get “buried often, so I am bring my ad to the top. I can make these in maple, cherry, walnut, ash, oak or hickory with 1/4”,5/16”, 3/8” or 1/2” brass rod. All rods can be tapped 8-32 or 10-32 to increase capacity for larger balls via screw-in jag.

I appreciate your design. I also appreciate the HC provenance of the style. Truth be told, I'm planning to build one for myself. My skills are not always up to par. If I fail, I hope to message you to have one made.
