I use Ballistol for cleaning the bore fouling, nothing else. I may try Windex as I've heard on this forum it also does a good job cleaning fouling. As far as lubing the barrel after cleaning, I use Frog Lube. Never mind in my case if a lube can withstand -40 deg,, I can't!

No report where the presenter talks that fast can possibly be accurate. Studies have shown this.

Also, Ballistol has a lot of other uses besides cleaning guns. Reports are that you can use it for treatment of abrasions, and I'm pretty sure I saw someone say it was real good on Wheaties. So there are more benefits to Ballistol than to those other dangerous mixtures of chemicals. (Okay: 😂😂👺)

All of those have petroleum in them.
Oil and burnt black powder makes sludge. Which makes it so you have to swab between shots nd gums up your grooves.

All those above are made for those firearms we dont talk about.

There are chemicals people use on guns that I wouldn't touch without latex gloves on. Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber is one of them. It does a nice job, but something I don't want contact with my skin. I don't think it's good if it gets on your extra fancy maple gun stock either, and that goes for several "wonder" cleaners. Ballistol will not hurt your skin, or your gun stock. I'm not convinced on the Wheaties thig.

Do you put the frog on top of the powder or on top of the bullet?

Lol myth. Besides... do you really pour powder down your barrel, fully aware that theres oil in it? Again, swabbing between shots is your powder fouling and the fact you're most likely using a poor patch lube to begin with.

Adolph Hitler used Ballistol for his flatulence-It can't all be bad?
Yes, he actually drank it with doctors orders. The same guy that gave him cocain for fatigue.
Well, it's mostly licorice-flavored mineral oil, isn't it? So fundamentally a lubricant laxative. Not surprising Hitler's doctor would have recommended that. Was probably pretty much state of the art at that time and a "best practice".

8 to 1 Ballistol and Water gives me the best patch lube I have seen. It also cleans up BP residue well. I use my own olive oil, tallow, bees wax forumula for rust protection.

He's not around to tell us if it worked vs. his gas (gee LD that's a very bad pun)
And cocaine was part of the original formula for Coca-Cola, and it was supposed to help with fatigue...

either way I'm betting some Clenzoil....

(I wish the guy had also tested just plain old ATF fluid that is made to mimic whale oil)
