I always used hot soapy water to soak the barrel and then scrubbed with water and TC#13 (alternating), it seemed like it took 30 patches before they started coming out clean. I bought some Rusty Duck "Black Off" on a whim because it was on sale cheap. It really seems to speed things up. Only takes five to ten patches and they start comming out clean.
