Just a word of thanks to everyone had a comment on my post. Never realized how complicated a subject it could be but enjoyed reading the replies. I have taken a fair amount of game with the double and really enjoy being in the woods with it.

Thanks, was wondering what a .58 was needed for, now I know.

There is a place west of Mexia that has a lot of them off Hwy. 84, the new born are kinda cute.

Have fun. Should make a lot of "Big Macs".

I assumed this thread was all about shotguns so I wasn’t going to post about a double rifle here, but Griz started it!

Bwana Mama’s .54 CVA Express rifle (my shooting this time). I know i need to continue evaluating loads at longer ranges but the photo is encouraging. I may eventually be relying just a little on “holding” a tad L or R withe the single sight, but with this target as a starting point (borrowing Will Geer’s line from “Jeremiah”), “I will do well”.

No reason to, Dorothy and ToTo show up here on a regular basis as topics wander off the Yellow Brick Road, some even do not follow the rules.

I saved this topic for my Favorites, it will help with my Trail Guns Armory double 50.

OK, I have spent the last few days with my hands turned to the work bench.
It's a bit crude as I cut this piece out of a piece of 1/2 x 5/8 bar stock with a hack saw.
Brought it to the size I wanted it (took .03 off the bottom to make it thinner,
Chamfered the sides and bottom to fit the rib with a flat file,
Tapered the ends to a roughly 45 degree angle with a hand file,
Drilled and countersunk mounting holes with a drill press,
Drilled and re-tapped the existing barrel rib sight mounting hole to 6-48, (It was some kinda metric I could not match)
Drilled and tapped a new hole in the barrel rib for the second mounting hole.
Started to hand cut a pair of dovetails with a Dawson sight file.
Bandaged my palm where the point of the file handle cut a hole in my hand.
Cut a large dowel rod and made a handle for the Dawson sight file.
Finished cutting the dovetails. That's a lot of filing with a small hand file.
Cleaned and draw filed as instructed in the TOTW browning salts instructions.
Browned the piece over a day - got a pretty close match to the barrel finish.
Pressed the Marbles #69W sights into the dovetails.
These sights are adjustable for both windage and elevation.
Mounted the sights to the gun barrels.
It's a bit crude, but it will do until I can get it to the range and determine if this setup will give me enough adjustment to get both barrels to point of aim at 75 yards, then test with that adjustment at 50 and 100 and still make a 4" kill zone.
I have had correspondence with Andy at Skinner, if these work out OK he is going to do a prototype.
I'm excited about it and if it all goes as planned with make another set for my .72
