Hey all

I found this book online and figured I would pass it along as I think it's a very good book that uses a very simple and effective approach to beginning blacksmithing.

Most of the blacksmith books that I have looked at almost requires you to already have a pretty decent selection of tools to start off with.

This book basically allows you to start blacksmithing with almost nothing, and walks you through the steps on finding the right kinds of scrap metal and then explains how to use the metal to make the tools that you'll use to make later projects in the book.

It's meant for people in poor and underdeveloped countries to utilize scrap metals and make simple everyday tools that we all take for granted here in the states.

To me it seems like a guy in his backyard with a pair of vise-grips, hammer and a section of railroad track can use this book as a jumping off point to start making some very PC reenacting gear in very much the same way the early colonists and settlers did.

Wish I had seen this book when I was 15........
