SOLD PENDING FUNDS. UPDATE: Jack Brooks has confirmed that Mr. Moller likely built this rifle for himself. This rifle is a Beauty. It was part of the estate of the late George D. Moller who was well known for his books on colonial and post colonial American martial arms. The .54 barrel is 38" Straight taper and 1.05" across flats. Nicely browned. It has a single trigger. The stock is a blonde Tiger Maple that reflects a variety of colors as you turn it in the light. Furniture is brass and patchbox is full of extra flints, jags, etc. While the frizzen shows wear, I do not believe the rifle has been fired, as only the slightest oil came out of the bottom of the breech. It is possible that Mr. Moller built this rifle, but I have no documentation. His last name is engraved in script on lock and a small GDM stamp is on underside of buttstock. Still researching this. I would rate the condition not quite 100% due to some scratches on lock that appear to have been caused by a burr on the cock. The photos say more than I can type. Reduced to $2000 + Shipping.
