what exactly are you calling bee hive powder horns ? i can assume that you mean the butt plug shaped the the hives in whinnie the pooh ?

that styly of plug has been around for quite a while , i've found a few dated to the early 1800's if you like i may be able to give you some referances .........

sorry i said that i found sources into the 1800's when i had meant the 18th. century sorry for the confusion ...so early 1700 is the earliest i have found bee hive butt plugs . but as always its only what i've seen , other folks can find different information ....
 
The illustrations are exactly what I was referring to. Was curious about how far back the design went. Thanks for the comments.
