This is Enzo, heā€™s an 11 month old Cane Corso. Best dog we have ever had. Heā€™s very playful, friendly and a fierce protector. Heā€™s 92 lbs last weigh in. Not sure how big he will be!

Linny is the black and white husky Shepherd, lost her early spring, WORST one yet, she was cool, smart etc. The sheperd husky with the white triangle nose is Bear, most protective and loving EVER. The sleeping guy is moms new pup Jonah, a golden Retreiver. My avatar, Grizzly, may always be the tops but these guys are right there. Bear came after I lost Grizzly to auto immune 5 years ago. BTW linny and Griz were litter mates.

Manā€™s best friend you love them they love you back.

Meet Delle, if not friends then surely we are friendly acquaintances. She was a member of a feral litter who's mother raised her under my cabin 4 years ago. Since then her mother and siblings have moved on but Delle stayed on as a petit and industrious little mouser. She won't permit contact or approach closer than about ten feet, but she is a frequent shadow following me about on my property. She enjoys watching me work or play. This photo was taken of her enjoying the entertainment I provided her while I was pulling nails from old barn lumber I was salvaging. As is her habit she was perched ten feet away and seemingly fascinated with my activity.

Damn but it is painful to think about the mortality of dogs. Almost wish I had taken up raptors instead. Birds of prey don't cuddle or love you.
I don't know if birds can love, but I do know that some do reciprocate a kindness.
Of all the creatures that visit my compost pile to partake of the latest deposited delectables only the crows leave payment for their meals. They do so in the form of trinkets. The faux mother-of-pearl on the interior of freshwater oysters being their favorite form of currency.

All of our Labs. Each and every one. All I need do was whisper their name and the dog was on all fours looking intently at me, vibrating, just wanting the next word of command.
Almost any dog is better than almost any person. Too old now and my dream came too late. A horse. An eagle on my wrist. And a good dog.
Teenagers, girls and boys, in Mongolia have that. I could give up indoor plumbing and HVAC for that.
