Slipped out into the garage with a cup of coffee and my thoughts and came up with this for a “rattle”. Turns out it’s more appearance than rattle. I did try to make it up how and with what might have been available back then. The rattles are just the tail end cut into sections and 3 strands of cord run through them with a knot in between. Then a hole drilled into the body and out the bottom and tapered the hole. I then pulled the cord through tight, pegged in place and trimmed the cord and peg flush. I wish it shook more so it would rattle but maybe the next one I can add some shot inside or something. Thank you again colimer for the idea. It does help dress up the end.

Just a personal opinion but right now you have a one of a kind item that you have put alot of work into and everyone would give an eye tooth for. Why add more and more and take an albeit a chance of ruining it or doing something your not happy with. Start another and add the new mods. If it messes up your original is still magnificent .You can't undo a mistake on something that nice
