just had to tell, took my 12 ga. out for the first time with .690 balls. damn, does that thing ring a gong! i would feel very comfortable deer hunting with it at short range. shoots right to point of aim! almost shouted hooo-yaa on my first hit.

Hey W-kid - I'm hunting with a 75 rifle with round balls. Pushing a .735 ball over 150 grains of FF. This thing remind me that the rifling not only twists the ball but also the barrel and gun :) Hope things work out with your underhammer sights. Sorry to hear about it. GC

Happy to hear ya say that Ive had a real field day shooting balls out f the 62/20 and have been wanting to try this 12 g barrel but these UHs are so lite I had my :hmm:  :shake: :shocked2: guess it wont hurt to put a 100 down it and a ball and see how it works out. :rotf: fred :hatsoff: and that is really :cursing: about the Uh.

Walrus: I just shot some patched .690s over 90 grains FFg from a 12-gauge percussion double last week. The right barrel put two holes touching an inch from dead center at 50 yards. Gave me a "smile like an acre of sunflowers..." as the old song goes.

Bill, how does the left barrel group, or is it choked too tight to use nothing but shot?

Both barrels on Bills new double are cylinder bore. The left barrel and right barrel always grouped together for me at 25 yds but Bill says he is having different results. He was using a different load than i used though.
