Got my Bismuth/tin alloy #4 shot and managed to get a couple of ducks. Greenhead and a Drake Sprig. Killed them both in the air, about 40 yards or so. Seems to work OK. This shot looks a whole bunch better than bismuth I have tried in the past. (FYI: https://www.rotometals.com/bismuth-shot/ )

Shotgunning with shot was considered a whole specific discipline in Germany as early as the 1600's. I've seen woodblocks and the shotgunner with birds has a very different label from the "Jaeger" with rabbits and deer.
Lots of different variables, plus now the modern restrictions on the pellet metal. You have figured it out!
