Finally have pound of 3f (for my new flintlock) and 2 pounds of 2f (for my cap-locks). Did not pick up 4f for the pan yet and was wondering if 3f will do the job in the pan. ( new to flintlocks) I guess when I can I will just try it. Up here in upstate NY we are for the most part shut down, local ranges. Oh well, powder on hand now and WAITING.😩

I thought this group might find this interesting. I was at an antique show and a trader had an old can (100 + years) of DuPont F. The can had some rust and the screw top was also rusted I bought it and the can was full. I figured the powder would be hard as nails but to my surprise there were only a few lumps. I decided to try it so I mixed 35 gr of FFF and 35 gr of the old F in my shotgun and it performed nicely. Shot the whole can up this way. so if you find an old muzzleloader and it is loaded be careful that power may still be active. steg49

I have bought black from Friendship and from Back Creek in Virginia, just outside of the N-SSA. Back Creek used to have five pound bags for sale on Sunday after the N-SSA Nationals.

Jackie still has the 5 pound bags but they cannot be shipped, has to be in cans. He has kegs too. He will sell all you can legally transport and/or own in your home state.
