Anyone watch Blackbeard last night on TV? I thought it was pretty well done. I got too caught up in the story to nitpick any details, but at first glance they did a good job in clothes and equipment.

I missed it also...(don't have a t.v. hooked up...) going to have to get a copy when it comes out on DVD....

But there have been a lot of discussions about it in the Pyracy pub forum...... But the overall impression, is that even with the mistakes, it still was good......

Well other than the "Hollywood" bucketboots Blackbeard wears..... :rotf:

I didn't realize that they had silencers on their flintlocks back then. They just kind of went "Poof" instead of bang or boom.

Good afternoon
Leave it to Hollywood to be so Politically Correct that they won't even shoot a Parade Load in a flick about Pirates. I did notice however that the cannons recoiled when fired
They did do a good job with the various sloops, but I think that Queen Annes Revenge was to a later time period?

A lot of cannons used in movies are fiberglass, and use propane and a spark plug instead of powder. You can see this type in the "Last of the Mohicans."
