Does anyone have a blanket gun made from a rifle? Would this be something to play with at a rendezvous?

I've got this cheap Japanese-made kentucky rifle someone gave me. I would use it as a plinker, but it throws debris in my face from the cap.

The wood is OK, but the fit and finish leaves a bit to be desired. The most disturbing aspect of the rifle is the fake patchbox. It's just a flat piece of brass.

I'd like to cut it down, refinish the stock, and add some brass tacks.

Thanks for your imput.

Yeah why not?

I have no idea as to the legalities of that.

Would that rifle happen to be a Mirouku, made for Sears and Roebuck? If it is, then it has an excellent barrel. The rest of the rifle may leave alot to be desired, but I finally got mine to rag a hole 50 yards by using .451 round balls and a spit patch. Good Luck

The rifle is a Mirouku. If the barrel is OK, do you have any suggestions as to the easiest way to put a decent stock on it?

I'd hate to chop a good barrel.

What should I do about it throwing debris in my face when I shoot it? Is that a worn out nipple problem?

Thanks

Get a flash cup. They mount under the nipple and should
solve the problem. Dixie Gun Works and Track of the Wolf among many dealers carry them.
