At 82 with arthritis I can longer hunt Idaho's mountains or compete as often & inletting work takes more effort.
Below is photo with a flint pistol I recently completed, weather is finally getting good to sight-in at the range

Arthritis is an invention of big pharma. You just need need to grease up your joints. A nice injection of 50/50 olive oil and beeswax will do the trick. Stay away from lambs tallow, it makes your knuckles fuzzy.

I remember the old guys I worked for said WD-40 would cure arthritis, they would spray some on and rub it in!

Yes! We’re still on the green side of things. Sure beats the alternative. Beautiful pistol!

HA, wait until you are 87 and that stuff gets into an ankle. I need handholds all over my shop! Then gremlins swing on my screwdrivers and gun barrels.

If you want to stick to external applications, you need to increase your bacon intake.

In my youth I had a similar condition a number of times, but it was called ‘baseball finger’… probably related to playing shortstop occasionally. Remember a spring steel splint that pulled it back to where it was intended to be. Unfortunately, no help with your arthritis.

At 78 and 50 years in construction I know all about your pain . Have bad joints legs bad back you name it I have it . First year I did not hunt deer in 61 years. If I shot one I would have live next to it tell I could eat it up no more dragging one out

Welp I have dupherins constriction probably not spelled right but in both hands had the right operated on and arthritis set in know I can’t close my hand fully to make a fist and the left hand I’m leaving alone . But on the bright side I can still hold my rifles being right handed. Isn’t arthritis a joy to have in your hands knees and any where else it decides to settle in. Heres what depherines constriction looks like make your fingers curl up .
Notice the baby finger that’s as straight as it and the right one we’ll go .

I count my blessings, some aches and pains but no arthritis, but I’m familiar with it as my wife has it badly in hands and feet, bad enough for the invaliide pension but she keeps on working as a nurse.

That’s a beautiful pistol, at any age.

I pity your wife's arthritis pain issues, same for my wife who is a retired RN.
Pressures to inlet pistol components are rough with those who have arthritis.
I'll probably stick with easier restoration projects.

Nice pistol. One thing I've noticed is that arthritis, diabetes complications, tumor, whatever ...have mostly taken awhile to get to the troublesome stage, but some hit like Ol' Sonny Liston. Mebbe we can adapt to a problem for a long time, then one day you can't tell the difference between ".222" and ".223" on cartridges but reading percussion cap sizes is still possible. Finally realized the reason my hands look and act like an old guy is ....I AM AN OLD GUY ! Grand daughter said "I like shopping with Grandpa. He gets the best parking places."
