You always should use the right tool for the job. Most of the time - that tool is a hammer.
Pour the powder from the horn into your mouth then blow it into the barrel.Should I pour powder directly from the horn after blowing down the barrel. And will my .36 use .590 balls.
A word of caution: Elephant tears are very salty. They will cause severe rust in your barrel. To prevent this, neutralize them with bile from a mosquito's gall bladder. I learned this the hard way. You're welcome.Hey @TDM I like to clean with pure elephants tears. Do you think this will prevent flash rust or do i need to add boiling frog gizzards to my potion? You know I really want to season my steel barrel!
How about blowing vs. peeing down the barrel?Yep, I’m out of ideas for the next thread. But somebody will come up with something.
Even with a tube?By the way, blowing down your barrel is prohibited on shooting ranges in Germany,
and will give you an instant match DQ.
dang it gunny! another gadget that is going to cost me money!Giottos Rocket Air Blaster could be interesting, even has lanyard holes in the fins. I use one for cleaning keyboards and cameras. The tip is slightly tapered so one could use a short piece of plastic tubing if needed. It puts out a pretty good amount of air.

Snot a good idea.It is good to have a serious thread. Seriously, I do not see the purpose to blow down the barrel of a muzzle loader where access is only via the sharp end. Breech loaders yes. Muzzle loaders no.
After thought: with double barrelled guns it would be better to use your nostrils rather than your mouth and do them both at once.
It's a really neat gadget, puts out a strong blast of air. I bought one 4 or 5 years ago to blow some dust off of some 35mm slides that I inherited from my uncle. In addition to all the slides, I received a grocery sack full of developed negative strips, mostly photos he took during the Korean War. Some are pretty gruesome. Believe it or not, I found a slide and negative copier off of Amazon for about $80, and it does an outstanding job of converting to a digital image, it even will convert the negative to a positive image. The rocket blower is great for blowing the dust and lint from the film.dang it gunny! another gadget that is going to cost me money!
