I have not seen one of these yet but the price does not seem to bad and I would not mind hearing a first hand review.

Sorry, but with the caplock ignition, stock shape & skinny barrel with large funnel attached, it seems cartoonish to me. On the other hand, they are offering an 1851 Uberti for the same price.
The Uberti is a correct looking gun & fun to shoot - a much better deal. If you want something to take to a rondy (pre 1840) or 18th c event, I would keep looking.

Ok, I'll admit it.....I bought one even though it is very obviously not "historically correct", or even close to it. There are three or four videos of it in action on YouTube posted by an outdoor writer name of Hovey. I just thought it was a cute little thing and looked to be a real hoot to shoot. I haven't put it together yet but the kit seems of pretty good quality. Butt plate installed, dry-fit of parts everything lines up, well-packed, etc. Buy it for the sheer fun of it, not to buy an authentic replica. I'll terrorize the local squirrels next season.

Wall Hanger stuff IMO, a 2 piece "barrel"? no thanks. Also the barrel looks like its made from stainless steel its so shiny. I would find something better to buy for my $270.00.

Ed Rayl sells blunderbuss kits. A buddy and I have one on order. It has been on order for 4 months or so. When it comes it will be a 4 bore ( I think ). My buddy handled the ordering so it could be anything from a 10 gauge to a 4 bore, but we both like to make big booms so I'm guessing the largest available. Should be a lot of fun. However the kit cost 4 times as much as the one in Sportsman's Guide, but it has an Ed Rayl one pieces barrel and is a flintlock.

I would be tempted if it was flint too. There is a lot one could do with the stock as long as it was inlet properly. john

I know he makes the barrels for the Stonewall Creek buss kit but I did not know he had gone into the kit business very recently.

Wow! I don't know what to say! :idunno: Well yes, actually I do. If you took an old piece of water pipe and lengthened the barrel :hmm: you would have a gun just exactly like the Pilgrims had in my 1st. Grade coloring book. :grin:
