Great job with the photos. Take and post some more as you build the critter. would be intereting to see it shping up.

I plan on doing a photo documentary showing the progress, mistakes and all.

As for what it will be when it grows up, it will look like this!

Way cool Ed!! :hatsoff: Where did you get the kit?

And just what ARE you going to hunt with that cannon??

Hello,

Well the kit is from tennessee valley mfg. TVM

As for what im going to be shooting with this, wabbits! This is my wabbit gun. My brother was joking with me and said he would like to see the look on an intruders face if I was using this as home defense.

nice kit just like mine! Tvm had a special when I bought mine it is more involved to assemble than i anticipated but ill have it done soon. congrats fellow blunderbuss shooter

So if it's gonna look like the pictures, how ya gonna turn a steel octagon to round barrel into a brass round barrel? :rotf: Jest funnin, Good luck with the project. It's good to see guys that are out to help turn over the black powder stores, so that it doesn't get stale :haha: Bill

There are a lot of late period parts in this kit, but if that makes no difference to you it shouldn't matter a wit. :v

Bill,
He could imerse it in a tub of water saturated with copper sulphate and hit it with a 24 volt jolt of direct current with the barrel being the negative terminal. Then he would have the only copper barrel in history, hyuk, hyuk! :rotf: :blah:
God bless.

hmmm now there's an idea!

No seriously, it's a L&r queen anne lock and my barrel will be steel! not copper or brass.

Have been looking up info on the blunderbuss and not much info out there at all. very very little but there's a huge reputation.

As for instructions there were none! It's definately not a beginner kit by no means. Just about everything is self explanitory and it's all covered in the building the kentucky pistol book.

I took some photo's this morning and I see a few things I missed last few days. Here's what I have so far.

Yes you do have a lot of work to do. Imagine doing the shaping that is already done in addition to what you have to do. :shocked2: What is the huge and beautiful wheel of blushed curly maple for? Is it just for photography or do you have another use?
God bless.

volatpluvia,

I plan on doing alot of research before I start anything, then I will decide how and what I will do to the kit.

As for the photo's they serve several uses. I can see details the naked eye can not, get a look at what various changes would look like before making them, plus I get to show off.

All of this blunderbuss talk has reminded me of some old ideas. So I dug around and figure I have the hardware needed to build one, but I don't have a stock. I have looked at the TVM website but don't find the b'buss kits mentioned. Do they sell parts or only the complete package? My barrel is not exactly like theirs so I would need a stock with a basic groove and the ramrod groove done. If inletting for one of the standard locks could be done it would help too. Any suggestions? Thanks

Ed,
I sure do understand about showing your stuff in photos here on the forum. But I was asking about the wheel of curly maple that the gonne was resting on.
God bless.

OH! sorry, that is NOT curly maple, the stock is curly maple. The wheel is claro walnut that I use for a work block.
