Hey guys,
What would you recommend for a kind of wood for a mid 18th century German Blunderbuss. I'm building a gun that I saw at an antique arms show a year or do ago. It had a short barrel which was common, but had a buttplate and cheekpiece just like a German rifle. The furniture was iron, and the stock was black. I could not tell what kind of wood it was.
Anyways, what do you all recommend? Walnut, fruitwood, and where can I get it? Thanks for the help
