I can give you a source..., I can recommend it for information, but not necessarily for readability... a bit "dry", but on the other hand extremely detailed.

Nothing but Blood and Slaughter by Patrick J. O'Kelley

He has written three volumes, combing records for every single "engagement" during the AWI in both Carolinas. If a lone rebel took a single pot-shot at a lone loyalist... likely that he's documented it.

"Swamp Fox" by Robert D. Bass is the best I have...

There is another that is very embellished...
"The Life of General Francis Marion" by Brigadier General Peter Horry who served with him..

Thanks. I'll check those out. I saw a few books on him but, being a bit ignorant of the history, wanted to find the most correct accounting.

For a look at the other side of the coin, check out "The King's Ranger" about Thomas Brown. He was very active right here in our own backyard.

Check out The Road to Guilford Courthouse by John Buchanan. It does a good job discussing the entire Southern Campaign but is does cover many of General Marion's battles.

Good news is the books you outline'll have lots of pictures!

Gray Ghost by Ramage (on Mosby if you are interested in US CW).
