Have a .54 Renegade barrel that I would like to get bored out to .58. Does anyone know where I could have it done?

Ed Rayl, Gassaway, West VA.

But...however, after its all said and done cost wise, if it was me, I'd just buy a new .58cal drop-in 1"70" round ball barrel for the Hawken from GM and get the added benefit of a longer (32") barrel with a round ball twist...then just sell the existing .54cal.

Or, you could get a new 28" x 1:48" twist .58cal barrel from T/C and sell the .54cal.

But ideally.....if you kept the .54cal it would let you have it bored out to a .62cal smoothbore in the future...smoothbore barrels are very useful/versatile barrels to have and GM no longer makes them for the T/C Hawken.

i had Robert Hoyt of the Freishutz Shop bore a .50 Renegade to .58 1-90" twist a year ago. the only problem with the Green Mnt. barrel idea is they haven't made any in over two years.

Well, the .58cal is still listed in GM's 2010 catalog listings on their website...maybe they haven't kept it to date.

A simple phone call to "Kerry" at GM will confirm, and if they're currently out of stock, if / when they might have another run planned.

Mine was in flint and was unbelievably accurate...sold it earlier this year when I had the .58cal Virginia built.

Roundball, two years ago GM said it would be three or four months. the rumor is they have some military/gov't contract work taking up all production. those IBS barrels were a great resource.

Bob Hoyt just bored my .54 flint fullstock out to a .62 caliber, rounded rifling. Great job and I love the round rifling. 1:66" twist. Wow, that .62 is a BIG hole!
