I purchased one of Mike's (aka "Spiderman317" on here) excellent Range Boxes that he sells on this forum, and I am really happy with it. Because my local range has concrete benches, I paid for Mike to provide me with an extra "bottom" piece for the Range Box he makes and sells (plus an extra set of hinges and lathches, and I also added another set of hinges to make the barrel rest fold flat). The attached images will show how I made that extra piece into a drop-down flap (or false bottom) that holds and protects my rifle from the edge of the concrete shooting bench. I am really happy with the design of Mike's Range Box, and while I know he makes a larger box that has a built-in front flap that does the same thing (holds and protects the rifle from the bench edge), I liked this size box for my use.

I have some addition pictures available, if anyone wants to PM me and get some additional details on how I turned the extra bottom into the fold-down flap. It only took a few extra pieces of pine.

This worked really well at the range today, I was really happy with it.

Had a similar problem at my gun club benches no way to safely stand a muzzleloader for loading, the bord is held tight to bench by a drill press clap . I really like your box solution
