Hi I have a brass 51 Navy I got from a friend. It’s rusty but it functions. I can’t Can’t find out who made it. It is stamped fie on top of barrel nothing underneath. Made in Italy on bottom of grip. XxVI on frame which I think is 1970. This is the only other stamp I can find - Thanks for any help

FIE (Firearms Importer Exporter) did business in Florida years ago. It is not a Pietta, which would have a barrel marking <***> F.LLIPIETTA MADE IN ITALY .

The shield next to the proof date code is the seal of Gardonne, where the Italian proof house is located and indicates a viewing by the proof house. The boxed letters indicate the passing of the proof test and the year of the proof test.

I uncovered what I think is a “GLB” stamping on the butt of the grip frame. Didn’t see it before. From what I could find that is Luciano Giacosa.
