Well folks it's time I went.
I've become something I don't want to be!
A trol hunter I am not but have somehow become one.
A certain member from my shores has haunted me on other forums for years now and I suspect informed the law about me on at least one occasion in the past (which amounted to nothing).

I use to enjoy this place but now I find myself focusing on a nemesis.

But hey, it was good. Many a good person here. Folk that understand how much I love the woods and wilds.
The jokes and humour. The serious and passionate discussions.

So I have to choose.
My health, happiness and family or contending with misery!
I choose my family and health.

Maybe we will meet in the backwoods somewhere.

Seems you are from uk. Some people are , well a gentleman does not say. I have been reported to RSPCA and police for hunting squirrels, getting Masons together at our sailing club to kill Arabs and Jews. , causing civil unrest at our sailing club, interviews by police twice, I would not let a horrible cousin from Australia stay with us So he was reporting with fictitious emails to the police Saying I was mentally un stable and should not drive a Motorhome or have guns. “ I love my cousin , me, and don’t want him killing people you must take his guns away. , they took my shotguns away , husband and wife put out I was racist and other things as the were furious and reporting me to police and President of club with lies

telling the police I was innocent did not come into it. I was interviewed by chief firearms guy who said I did not believe your answers. And the police said. We overheard you saying. “ I’ll kill intruders “. I love this forum and have met with lovely new friends , but there are some , Britsmoothy warned me about, who would not hesitate to inform the police of anything interesting

The same happened to Hal , 47. ( Ulfere ). On British military forums. He contributed a lot and I think his website was Rathbone. Net

3 years gone by and nothing we were chatting email most days , then nothing anywhere. He has a 577-500 no2 just like me. I think he was 47. White guy from northern Alabama town he had just bought his wife a Winchester as she wanted to hunt with him. He was in school construction. I miss him a lot and nothing from his wife. I think car accident fallen off a building site. It goes through one’s mind and is very upsetting

We are not far behind England. Pretty sure that I have been red flagged already because I have a private range in my yard but the county sheriff is my closest neighbor and a very good friend.

I have been in touch with him.
His leaving here was just as he said in the post quoted previously by Loyalist Dave.
And is primarily due to one (1) individual here who plays innocent, or dumb, as if he doesn't know. This person tried to make unwarranted legal problems for Britsmoothy, as well as continuously giving him a hard time on this and other forums.
Britsmoothy is mature enough to recognize that he did not like the reactions he was starting to have to thos situation. He looked within himself for a solution rather than lashing out at, or complaining to, others. So, he decided to disengage from something he used to enjoy but now contained the source of his stress and aggravation.

It happens all the time, I get it a lot of it because I like to share pictures and "how to's" for any of the newbies out there. There is a guy on the Primitive Archer site that counters every one of my posts with a holier than thou put down. I reported him but nothing changed so I backed off on my posts rather than raise a ruckus on a really nice site. The last time he went after me when I said I carried a pre measured powder charges in a small plastic tubes along with my ball board when I hunted. He countered that in "HIS CAMP, NO PLASTIC OF ANY KIND WAS ALLOWED", jerk.

All of the early very knowledgeable pillars of the archery community all came on board to share their knowledge when the internet surged forward and individual specific boards took off, every single one of them dropped their memberships on these boards because the jerks out there gave them such a hard time with constant put downs and picking fights. So much available knowledge lost, and this was from the guys who wrote the books, literally.

Yeah, I've known some guys like that, for a short time, attitude...to no end!

If you go back through Brit's posts, you should be able to determine who advised the local authorities of Brit's activities.
And, after a discussion with Brit, the authorities did not pursue charges.

However, without Brit's word, the identification of the rat won't be considered proven.
Brit was (is) a gentleman, and his posts remain as a great source of knowledge and stories.
We, as a community, are a lesser group without Brit and Jess.

There are 6 billion people on this planet. There’s no way every single one will get along with every single other. I never understood the arguments between the two in question. It seemed like it was some sort of class/ethics/style thing that I don’t have knowledge of (and won’t speculate thereof) that put them in conflict. I do know that both don’t regard turkey hunting very highly, which didn’t sit well with a lot of the fellows state side, one being more vocal about that than the other, so the fellow who’s still here is not as well liked because of that, than the other. I appreciate the posts of the fellow who’s still here and think Britsmoothy moving on is a pretty big loss to the site. Having been painted a villain on this forum by some, helps me appreciate that people hold their own views and voice them, even if what they say isn’t very popular.

I think most of us know who the individual is. Its a pity that differences of opinion online has resulted in real life dramas. Pretty poor form For What its worth. I kinda felt a bit of a kindred spirit with Britsmoothy and was looking forward to more of his content.
