Have your son strap you to a two-wheeled hand truck so he can get you to and from the blind. Heck, you've got both a tibia AND a fibula in that lower leg!!
Yes, it sure could have! Good attitude and hope you mend quickly! Hopefully the boys will tag out and you will still have some venison on the table.Oh well it could have been much worse.
Yeah, we don't bounce like we used to, that's for sure ! I cut my finger off in June on a table saw and cold weather and shoveling snow really reminds me of the injury. Thanks all !!!!!
There are memories from hunting camp, many getting blurred together over the years. And then there are the stories that last for generations. I am willing to bet that if dear old dad went hunting with a broken leg and got a deer (or not), be it from the back of a truck, a cabin window or porch, or a lawn chair, the story would be told and retold for years. If your boys can and will fix you up in a hunting spot where you are not in danger of hurting yourself, I say go for it. The fire will be warm the rest of year. And there are only so many hunting seasons and opening days left…..They walk through the camp regularly. I'll be with the boy's that is all that matters.
I’m guessing before the week is out there will be a lot of folks grateful for a warm fire. Your attitude warms me up. Happy holidays all ‘round.Well I had all next week scheduled for deer hunting with my son and fell down the attic stairs Monday night and fractured my Tibia. I'm am now in a full leg splint which immobilizes my entire left leg and unable to walk.
If it wasn't for bad luck I wouldn't have any at all. My son wants to drive out to the farm and let me sit in the back of the truck and hunt. I think I will just sit at the fire and hang out while my boys chase them.
Oh well it could have been much worse. For all you guys that will be out next week GOOD LUCK and stay out of the attic.
MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!
I'm sorry to hear that. Years back Dad fell helping unload opening weekend hunting gear, broke his fibia. My buddy and I built a hasty brush blind and he hunted opening morning on crutches.Well I had all next week scheduled for deer hunting with my son and fell down the attic stairs Monday night and fractured my Tibia.
