Browning parts.....NOT!

I browned my TOW trade gun with LMF and it worked great.
Are you applying it in long strokes? do not rub it in.
Because you live in Wisconsin, and its winter, I bet the problem is not enough humidity. I did mine in the late spring humidity fest Indiana normally is in May.
 
Yep, it's dry here in the Centennial State. But I have attempted to follow the excellent advice received on the forum and have tried the "humid bathroom" approach - much to my wife's disapproval! :nono:

I haven't tried to brown the barrel yet...wanted to work out the kinks on the parts first. Patience is the key, I think. I'll keep trying and post my results when things start to "brown up". Thanks, all!
 
I have found it helpful to give my wife a thing or two to complain about... this allows her to keep up her quotas.

Degrease the seam at the breach plug or you will get a bare spot along that area. Lyman uses a stubborn grease there that laughs at LMF browning solution.
