In agreement with Mart and stumpkiller. I have hunted deer for fifty years and used many calibers, and read all those tests in the old days. Some bullets of some sectional densities and velocities were said to be marginally better than others, and then another test would change the results, Have had bullets or shotgun slugs bore through stuff I never saw and flatten the deer, next time a twig would send the same off into orbital velocity. Clear shot is the answer. Good smoke, Ron in FL

Well, I'm not completely sure about Colorado regs, but in Kansas, you go kill your animal, and then you take it to a check station and they check it and tag it..............

There isnt any excuse for not waiting for a clean shot. I took a nice non typical in such a situation, he was walking from right to left and pretty much masked by tall wild hemp plants, and I decided he was gonna hang on my wall and I looked on ahead of him and found an opening, and I sighted on it and he walked thru it giving me a three foot opening to shoot thru and I dumped him right there. Just keep yer powder dry and spot your opportunities. There is no excuse what so ever for wounding an animal and causing it to suffer.

As everyone else has said, :nono: wait for a clear shot.
