Found this in a gun shop today, very good price, so I couldn’t leave it there. 1st one I’ve seen. That 20” barrel is really short, I’ll need a block under it to load! A few dents and dings, nothing major, and bore is very good. Serial is around 490.

Nice, I have ser#00132 I got at a gun show years ago, never shot it, but they are neat little rifles. Good find.

Awesome little gun. Like a short New Englander. Can't remember if they had standard TC 1 in 48 twist or something faster. There was also the 'Buckeye Hunter' with an octagon barrel, like a short single trigger Renegade.

Far from knowledgeable about TCs and variants but looks like a hybrid between a white mtn carbine and a new englander

Of course it is kinda like the Taco Bell menu - 5 or 6 basic ingrediants with a few core variations all put together in different combinations.

Neat guns and I'd imagine, don't know for sure, these are kind of rare. I bought one online several years ago. The gun had been in pristine condition until whoever packed it just tossed it in a box, disassembled, without and packing between the barrel and stock. You can imagine the condition of the stock by the time I received it. In this case it was not the carrier's fault. As I recall the gun was part of an estate being auctioned off by an attorney. They took the gun back but I would rather it had showed up in good condition, I would have kept it. I shoot a PA Hunter Carbine which has dimensions close to the Buckeye and really like it.

Sounds like you made a good score. I'd be curious to know how it shoots.

The Buckeye Carbine I had came with the factory tang sight. This one has the standard rear sight. T/C had some cool specialty runs on certain guns.
They sure did. And every so often the stocks were darn near presentation grade. No extra charge.
