On Dec 4th I traveled to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota to hunt Buffalo. Not the open range style hunt but a cull hunt. I shot it with my 54 cal golden age classic black powder rifle. I hear people saying that you need a lot of powder to shot large animals. It was loaded with 90 G 2f Gpex and a .530 round ball. Distance was about 30 yds. One shot the bull walked about 4 steps and fell over. Upon skinning we saw the ball entered and went through a rib. Then both lungs and broke a rib on th3e other side. The group before me took 6 shots to put a cow down. Bullet place in the correct spot does the job. My family will eat well this winter. Ike
