TOW kits are more or less a pile of parts, very much like the Rifle Shoppe.... those kits are really only for the skilled builder or builder who wants to take it up a notch.

Chambers kits are not all that easy, but you can ask them to make the kit easier for a cost same with TVM.

Kibler kits are just as easy as pedersoli kits.

Another option is an "in the white" gun. Tip Curtis used to offer those before he passed. As to price point, a $1000 parts set could be had as an "In the White" gun for about $1300.

I purchased an in the white kit from sitting fox a few years ago, not really worth the extra $500 in my opinion, my next kit I took the leap into a Track of the Wolf kit and did fairly well on the inletting which was very minimal for the kit. Hardest party was learning how to measure proper pinning.

The way I understand Sitting Fox to work, is that they farm out the basic build to a whole slew of guys that do the builds for them. Like people everywhere, some are really good, and some aren't, so it's something of a potpourri as to what you're going to get in the end. But it stands to reason that the REALLY good guys wouldn't stop at the (anonymous builder) "in the white" phase, but would continue on to make a name for themselves as "name" custom builders.
