Ok , stupid question time .
Been shooting muzzleloaders for about 30 years
always shoot patch/ball . or maxi/mini ball.
I picked up a Lyman Deerstalker for my son, to hunt with . Trying to keep things simple for him, picked up some Maxi-balls , also thought i would try some of those new-fangled Power Belt bullets. I haven't tried them yet , but i was wondering, i know that the lube in the maxi/'mini
balls keeps the fouling soft ,etc.
What the heck do you do with these plastic bullet things?????????? Especially the copper coated ones????
There are no lube grooves , what keeps the fouling soft, or cleaned out of the barrel ?
I can see where they would scrape some of the fouling back down the barrel while loading , but??????? then what .....???? :
Do you have to swab the bore every couple shots.
any answers will be appreciated.
Joe.

My experience with Powerbelts is that they can be loaded almost indefinitely without cleaning. The idea is that the plastic is oversized to make a gas seal and the bullet is actually a little undersized so they go down easily. The actual size of your guns bore will probably determine the 'range cleaning' regimen.

This was a response to the original question.
