I don't own a mould for my rifle yet but was trying to decide between the Lee REAL 380 grain mould and one of the Lee improved minie designs.

Any input on these would be appreciated.

I've used the REAL 380gr for years with great success. For accuracy an over powder or wonder wad is a must, without it my accuracy goes to 2-3 inchs at 100 yards. with it, I'm at 1 inch

A wonderwad is a lubricated heavy felt disk which is used over the powder charge and under the ball or bullet.

It protects the base of the bullet or the patch from the heat of the powder exploding and greases the barrel as it passes thru it.

Ox-Yoke made these prior to shutting down. I understand they are trying to start producing supplies now.

These things do work and are especially useful in Cap and Ball pistols but they come with a price. Some of us think too much of a price ranging from 5 to 7 cents each. :shocking:

systemamfry: I could send you some REAL to try if you like in 380 grains before you buy the mould, just pay the postage
