I have a Bass Pro about 45 min away, in yet another crappy mall. The closest Cabelas is over 1.5 hours away, so I go to BP. I have to say, they really have a ton of stuff. The fishing department is truly amazing. There hunting isles however, not so much. The last few times I was in, they had nothing I could use for either traditional muzzleloading or traditional archery. But they did have more ammo than could be put on shelves and the case boxes were stacked up on the floor on the last trip. Great for the handgun and cf rifle guys. The firearms associates seem to be just average guys with green shirts on, not what I would call real gun guys. They have no real advise, just banter about what is on the shelves. I think, in 5 trips, I may have spent 50 bucks total and some of that was for snacks for the trip home. It's not a bad store, they just dont have what I want.

"Answer, we can't. I can only sell you two. ???????? Why is that????? Well so everybody can get some and we don't run out...."

Their store, their inventory and their store rules,

Put the "big boy panties" on and follow their rules.

thank the anal orifice neck beards for this
those feces birds would sit in their mobility scooters while on SSI disability and buy up all the .22LR ammo then resell for X10 the price
if one of them falls out in front me, I may not remember in a covid mind fog moment how to do CPR
yeah, massive hoarders / online resellers are to blame, the store do that to maximum the number of the customers that get at least some of product X to enjoy their 2A rights
after the .22LR crunch was over, saw one was offering a literal pallet of .22LR for sale and whining about having to sell for less than he bought it for; just cry me a river you son of a dog
and I really cannot blame them

Y'know, I get irritated with store policies... at Cabella's as well as other places. Thing is though, while nobody else has much of anything in stock right now for muzzleloaders, the local Cabella's had nearly everything I was looking for. Thing I didn't like was the prices! More than forty bucks for a pound of T-7?! Really? I am not happy. Ready for the "Great Reset", whatever that turns out to be.

Still got a horn full of T7, a pound of Pyrodex and about 2 1/2 pounds of Old Eynsford. That's enough to last until Goex goes back into production and I can order ten pounds of Old Eynsford for less money per pound than T7 seems to be going for.
40 bucks a pound will never happen here.

My MLs will eat Pyrodex and they'll like it.

Personally I’m all for their rules. They can’t change it on the fly. I’ve been on the opposite end of that. Some years ago when there was a run on reloading supplies like there is again but before they put limits on the amount…. I drove an hour and a half to get to cabelas when I heard they had primers. I walked up to the door just in time to see a guy with 10 boxes of 1000 primers walk to the checkout. All they had. Drove there for nothing. So…. I’m so very happy they put limits.

Cabelas is a craptastic boutique store that caters to the Chads and Karens of the world. They're like "Dicks" (Sporting Goods) with an outdoorsy veneer.

Both suck and went woke. Hope they go broke.
I don't wish them ill fortune. That's usually bad karma for me. Everyone should do well. But Cabela's and Dick's will have to do well without any help from me.

So a Doc's appointment today, my last for the current hip replacement and to schedule my next. Cabela's is on the way home, so I stop in to buy some T7 3F as they have some and with the military discount and member rebate on the card, it isn't too bad of a price.

I ask the clerk if they have much of it. He affirms that they have several cases. Have you had much demand for it? No, not since hunting season is over. As I am going to be working up loads, relatively heavy, for 54 cal and 58 cal, I ask for three bottles.

Answer, we can't. I can only sell you two. ???????? Why is that????? Well so everybody can get some and we don't run out....What????? Are you guys capitalists or are we in a socialist country. You have it and in no small amount, there is no demand, I have the money and need it. Well, that wouldn't be fair. WHAT?????? Well, sir, you can come back tomorrow and buy 2 more bottles. How is that fair????? Well, you would only be buying two. Get the manager. Sir, I am the manager for reloading and powder. Screw you guys. Keep it all and choke on it.

I went down the street and found three bottles for just a little more...Oh, and he is a capitalist, he sold them to me.
Our Walmart is the same way!

I don’t support either. I remember when LL Bean was an outdoorsman supply depot, not a boutique, the times, as they say, are a changing…
L.L. Bean used to be a great outfit. I remember back in the early 1980's when they had the one store in Freeport. It was open 24 hours. All of the stuff they sold was top-notch and either made right there in Maine or elsewhere in the USA. Later they expanded and built the Hunting and Fishing store. The last time I was there I think they have four total stores on the compound. All imported stuff for the most part.

A real shame.

Keep in mind rthat Cabela’s is the name only. The real Cabelas has been gone since they got took over in a hostile take over almost bankrupted and then sold to thedollar general of sporting goods aka Bass Pro several years ago. So the nonsenses about buying anything other than fishing gear is actually BassPro policy

I'm done with Cabela's and their credit card which I had used for everything for more than 25 years. I'm not going to go on a rant but I have a lot of reasons all of which started after Bass Pro came along.
I too dumped their credit card, as well as avoid the place !

Stopped at Bass Pro in Little Rock on Saturday to see if they had any caps, none.

Must not be too many folks unhappy with them, parking lot was full.
