This was taken off the review page for the Kentucky rifle that cabelas sells .A "Beautiful Little Rifle, October 13, 2007

"Davide Pedersoli (DP) again has not failed to impress. This is a beautiful rifle and my second DP black power firearm, the other being a Blue Ridge (BR) percussion in 45cal. I wanted something is 50cal should the opportunity arise to hunt deer w/ round ball. It shoulders well and the wrist is lower than the BR and is actually a more comfortable, natural hold for me.
This Kentucky is in no way inferior to the BR in terms of fit or finish--the inletting is well done and the stock is nicely shaped and finished. Catalog/website photos do not do it justice. So, I cannot explain the price difference ($130 less than the BR's price) except for issues of scale. The rifle is shorter--35" barrel vs 39"; the LOP is 13.125" vs. 14" for the BR; the lock doesn't seem as substantial as the BR's, but still has a beautifully case-hardened face and hammer w/ brass side plate; the nipple even has a flashcup; the barrel is blued instead of browned and with a slightly heavier profile (50 vs. 45?), but has better balance than the BR due to the shorter barrel. Don't misunderstand me, it's sufficiently large for a man of 5'11", but not too large for a 5'4" 13yoa male who might want to take up muzzleloading.
I'm really looking forward to taking it to the range and breaking it in with my son" Someone who bought the gun from cabelas posted that review so unless the person who wrote it is blind I would think it is a pedersoli but it still wouldnt hurt to call and ask
