i have been trying to find information on groups in the san antonio area but i eighter get no e-mail answers or reach bad links!! with all of the history involved with this state, i can't believe i am having so much :curse: :curse: :curse: :curse: trouble

See if ou can get a hit on the Texas Army.

Also try calling historic sites directly, they usually have the names of contact persons for demonstrations and events. Some will be for groups and some for individuals.

Check the event listings section of Mzzle blaste and contact your NMLRA Field Rep.

Go to www.muzzleloadermag.com and click on clubs then click on Texas and see if any of the Clubs listed are close to San Antonio. I did'nt see any listed for San Antonio, but I don't know the towns around there. Welcome to the forum. There aren't many Texans on here.

Robert

Are you looking for groups that are reenacting THE ROCKY MT. FUR TRADE
or something else? ::

Hello brushbuster
I don,t have any club names for San Antonio but I can give you directions to a place which can help you out. Its called (The Gun Shop) 1/2block west of 410 and Fredricksburg Rd. access road Eastbound. They should be able to put you in with Reenactors and RB,s. I,m about 235 Mi South of there but have shot with their groups several times.
Good luck fox  :m2c:

know the place well, thats the only place i know of that still carries goex . theres a place in la coste which is not far from e where i live. the lady at the gun shop said they shoot every first sunday but everytime i went by the gate was locked and no contact number .i've got plenty of room to shoot here at home but enjoy shooting with other people once in a while.one of these days i'll get by the gunshop again and talk to old don (he's usually out to lunch when i get by there) and maybe get some more info
thanks jess

if i posted on the wrong site ,i apologize i was primarily going by the timeline .during the years of the fur trade texas was was going trough their struggle for independance from mexico .many battles were fought whithin a hundred miles from here and while reading other posts about personas and such ,the best idea i could come up with was this period .

Brushbuster, Wasn't seeing much about the fur trade so was trying to figure out exactly what you were looking for.
There are a bunch of Texas muzzleloader clubs listed in muzzleblast magazine with addresses and phone no.

Howdy,
I just saw a video adout the Alamo. In it reenactors stage the surrender of Mexican troops in Dec.1835. This is done yearly at the Alamo. Try the San Antonio Historical society and the Chamber of Commerce.

Looking for the same information for east Texas and having the same luck. Please post what you find bushbuster.
Thanks....
