Claude, does this mean that I can't challenge Mike Brooks to a duel for his insulting remarks?

A canoe gun has a shortened buttstock (and barrel) which would make it more difficult to shoulder and aim properly. They are a "novelty" gun more than anything......
Yeah, a novelty gun.....but I have one and it is a blast (pun intended) to shoot. And no, I DON'T shoot (or try to shoot) turkeys or squirrels with it. It may not be HC/PC but I don't care, it is a gun that I enjoy and I wouldn't take it to a juried event.

Only if its darts at 10 paces. :rotf:

And only if the darts are aimed at the forehead where any impact will only blunt the darts. :surrender:

No arguement with you there. However the gentleman asked for something to shoot turkeys (and maybe other things), and a canoe gun is not the proper gun for that task.....

I ain't even going there. :rotf: :rotf:

As one who has hunted turkeys with a flint gun, I suggest buying a gun with a longer barrel and go with at least #5 shot.

IMOH, barrels of 42 inches, in light guns swing easily and shoot very well. And, as mentioned some type of shotcup is a must for cylinder bored barrels. I would also recommend a 12 ga over a 20 for a dedicated turkey gun.

Oh, and if you set up in a brushy area clean out an arc of brush equal to the barrel length so's you can swing that gun quickly and cleanly without disturbing the brush within your "arc of swing."

Only if you film the footage when you change over to pigs (remember, pearls before swine) and post it on the 'net for everyone to see. The two of you might agree to be friendly when pigs fly!

How about a brace of .69 caliber Charleyville pistols loaded with 13 grains of FFFG and a .60 caliber paintball. Do not tamp the paintballs down too hard! 15 grains will produce a red mist
which is hard to clean out of the barrel.
How do I know this?????

One night a few years ago on a thread concerning walnut hulls I posted to TG {in Oregon}asking if he could spare some pearls,I was running pretty short.I don't remember his response but I do remember one response and I don't recall whether it was on the board or was a PM asking what kind of pearls was I talking about and as I recall he asked if they were some form of ammo.I suggested that he read his bible and I never heard from again. :hmm:
Ain't heresy grand

Jeese, I remember that, I thought you wanted to know if I could spare some GIRLS, and didn't understand the part about you being short :shocked2: I think I told you I had trouble enough finding my own at this point in life.

"Gettin' old ain't for the faint of heart is it? '

We should probably ask Tom about that, I am just entering the early stage of late middle age... it realy hit home the first time the gal at Izzys Pizza place just said "let's see, four seniors" as she made out the ticket instead of asking first :shake:

To quote and paraphrase some one on one of the late night talk shows,

"I accept the fact that I am getting older but reject any notion that I am getting old"

I a few short weeks I will be three score and fifteen. Ain't life grand?
Tom Patton

Is not a score 20? Or do I disremember (very likely at 75, which I thought was three score and 15) Good smoke, Ron in FL
