There was a post maybe a couple years back for a gun bench made from 2" X 12" lumber.I tried the search feature without any success. If anyone could right the wayward ship it would be greatly appreciated. :hatsoff: Thanks

On another board I offered plans for a gun stocking horse made from two by sixes and a couple of hard wood two by fours. P. M. me for additional info. BJ H

Thanks Claude that one with the two vices mounted on it is simalur to the one I remember seeing. The one I remember hed had a cam lock type vice to secure the rifle . Thanks again :hatsoff:

I like the one you made when it’s time to move it around.
I don’t have anything like any of those, I maybe should but don’t.

Just an old vice on an old bench that my dad made.

The one I built was very similar to Supercracker's in the first link that Claude posted.

Bill,

Thank you so much for posting that. Between the one you posted above and the one in a following link, it gives me some great ideas.

Gus, mine was fine for cleaning guns, but needed the weight of the heavier timber to be stable enough for smithing.

Thank you for mentioning that as I was wondering about it. I am thinking of a base like the second one listed above, but with a leather jawed wood vise like you have.
