Hello the fire,
I'm trying to find lehigh valley patch lube. I have perhaps a quarter of a bottle left. I couldn't find it at Log Cabin or Track of the wolf. And I'm sure I ordered it from one of the two. A websearch has not been of any help either.
Does anyone know where I might look?

Thanks,
Don

It's had a name change, it's now Shenendoah (sp?).
I bought it by the 1/2 gal. at Dixons.

Rick

I didn't know about the name change either. I was getting pretty nervous when I couldn't find any.
Swampy,
How did you find it at the Maine powderhouse site? All I can find on the site is powder and pack baskets. I don't see anything else in their online store. I did however place the order using the link you supplied. Total cost is only $8 a bottle, no shipping charge.

I just searched "lehigh valley patch lube" without the quotes and it came up, just looked and my browser was on Yahoo for the search, not google.

There was some discussion a while back that the new Shenandoah lube was not the same as the Lehigh Valley lube and did not work as well.

I really don't care what they call it as long as it works. Rick, can you tell us all how well the Shenandoah lube works? Thanks

Shenandoah is not Lehigh vally lube!!
The inventer Tom Decare took over his original Patten just recently, there was a article about it in muzzleloader under prime possibles two moths ago.
I have his Phone # and address but he is in the Army and may have been deployed back to Iraq.
I haven't been able to get hold of him and Track of the wolf is no longer taking orders for the lube.
As I understand it Lehigh vally lube will be back on line once Tom has a chance to get it together.
IMHO I have never shot a more accurate wet lube and hope it will be for sale again soon.

I remember the article in Muzzleloader; if I recall, Tom was kinda forced into selling out to his 2 partners who then changed the formula...for the worse. Tom later repurchased the company and went back to the original formula. Wish him luck over there! Emery

:shocked2: I hope Tom gets her up and running again! I have enough lube to get me to the other side of deer season but after that I'll be looking for a replacement! I don't think there was a better wet lube on the market. Or a better bore protectant!
BTW. I recieved an E-mail from jr at the powder house. He wonders how I was able to order lehigh lube from him because he hasn't had it in over a year. Also, The lehigh is clear (no color) the shenandoah looks to be kinda an amber color.

The Lehigh Valley lube that I have (original formula) is amber in color. Works great and can shoot all day. I have about half a bottle left.

try dixon's gun shop in kempton ,pa. they have a web site i believe you can get their phone # there

Thank you Gentelmen! I definately appreciate the help. I'm off to work momentarily but I'll get it ordered tomorrow morning when I get home. :hatsoff:

I have to agree with you Greenmtnboy. That stuff is awfully good. I hope it comes back. It used to be made in Oswego NY if I remember correctly. Is that where the original formula was made?

Frank, I've used the Shenendoah twice since I got it in October. I don't find a real difference. I've been using Lehigh Valley for about 3 years and love it. When I was at Dixons, I asked if they had any Lehigh and they pointed to the shelf with the Shenendoah. The bottle was the same, the label was the same with only a name change, the color was the same and the smell was the same. They had bulk jars of it also, so I picked up a half gallon. Shoots the same as my 50 flinter always has with Lehigh, a ragged 1 inch/10 shot hole at 50 yards off the bench. Wish I could shoot that good off hand. Swab with a piece of patch and do it all over again. No extra fouling that I have noticed. I clean with the same patches that I shoot with, .020 cotton denim. 2 patches at the end of the shooting session and the barrel shines. The only thing I have noticed with it is that it does not dry on the patch strips as quick. I can do a 30 shot woods walk with out having to add more lube to my strip. Others may see a difference with it, but I haven't.

my experience with Leigh Valley lube was not good. It appears to be primarily silcone. I certainly am not the most accurate shot but I will try anything that makes life easier. After I saw the demo at Friendship I had to try it. After two or three days of shooting my targets had holes all over the place. I sold 7 bottles that I had left to John Eder of Flintlocks Inc. So you should be able to get some from John.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experence with Lehigh.
From what I got in the Prime possibles article is that all the ingredents are natural and could be found back in the 1600s.
So I don't think silicone is one them.
