My old man used to call this type of attitude cutting one’s nose off to spite their face. There are payment options, some already mentioned. If you enjoy being part of this forum, figure it out. If not, wish you luck. Might be tough finding places that will meet your expectations, and if found might be a lonely club.

Last time I purchased a book of checks was about 20 years ago. Now down to the last one. Pay damn near everything using my bank's website. Been doing it for years with no trouble.
If they are going to hack your bank it won't matter if you write paper checks or use eft's. That is what FDIC is for.
Nope, FDIC is there only to insure your account if the bank folds.

Yep, we

Yep, adjusting a little bit is one of those "hey I can do this" things, I'm not one who accepts everything "on offer" in this chaotic "retail therapy" age, but I do make an effort to look into what can make my life easier and more convenient that suits my own personal agenda.

Now wheres that damn Quill and Ink bottle so I can sign a Goatskin Vellum Cheque.....

You might want to check into that...

That WAS the old standard. The Secretary of the Treasury on March 22nd at a hearing told Congress when the Silicon Valley Bank and Signature Bank both crashed and burned, that she was not considering "blanket insurance" of all US Bank Deposits, in all US Banks. Of course the press failed to report in full, so what was revealed was that even when the bank IS "covered" by the FDIC, the Treasury Department may decide NOT to cover the customer's deposit losses if the bank is not a "key bank" in the USA. Meaning if your bank is considered "medium" or "small" your savings could disappear. So the FDIC may not even insure a person's account, even if the bank says it does

I think that it is wise to only pay with cash and I believe that it is not wanted by the NWO clowns. However as another poster put it, our whole world economic system will one day be a “cashless society“. How else can the psychopaths know and control everything.

Though I find his stand honorable, I must also agree with the poster that said that he is “cutting his nose off to spite his face”. What does one gain but perhaps a sense of personal satisfaction and sadly you are not going to change the world or the future for that matter.

Other posters gave work arounds that made sense. Use those methods or sit in a corner and pout.

Well checks are getting expensive. My bank wants 80 cents US per check now when you need more. Plus you have to pay for expensive FedEx shipping on top of that too. I hate to think what a money order costs anymore to get. The world is quietly forcing everyone to using electronic means.

But checks and money orders can still be traced. Many businesses keep video recordings for quite a while before they recycle or erase them too. Thus they may have a video recording of one buying a money order. Cash is looking more and more where it may become obsolete too. People may have to resort to the old barter trade system again as there won’t be any cash around. The landlords for rentals are even cashless nowadays due to crime. Makes sense when a apartment building may have a 100 apartments and the manager could have many thousands of dollars in rent money to have to run the gauntlet of criminals to deposit in the bank. So they would be forced to go cashless.

But trying to stay anonymous on a gun forum seems to be kinda weird to me. If someone wants to they can trace back to who you really are. There aren’t really any secrets to the internet anymore. Our cell phones can be traced as the police use the phone all the time to place criminals at a crime scene. Trying to use public WI-FI doesn’t work either you are still traceable. Trying to route your internet through a dozen routers doesn’t work anymore as well. Even the VPNs are becoming more and more traceable.

but if you don't have any $$$$, NO PROBLEM. ;)
And we wonder WHY folks don't trust the government OR banks?
Folks got $$$ stashed under their mattress and we wonder why?
When the government taps your bank account and there isn't SQUAT you can do about it???
(and they do, quite often!!) ask me how I know. :(
Don't like the way things ARE? I DO understand.
When they won't take my CASH, they don't NEED MY BUSINESS!!
But, but, but?? B.S.
It's MY money and I'll spend it the way "I" want or Don't want!!

Getting kicked out of people who want to remain anonymous and yet are on one of these lovely sites probably considered extremism and it's being monitored by different nefarious FBI people. I had a brother who wouldn't join the NRA because he thought that the FBI would watch him too close, and yet he owned a complete automatic 22 that had to be registered with the federal government. I never understood his attempt at trying to remain out of the world and yet do things like that. I confess, I use a credit card for everything I can. if you don't want anybody to trace you anymore and you think you are hid, you had better cash any checks, bank accounts whatever you have and deal strictly in cash. Remember not to spend too much at one time, I think the government is keeping track of all transactions that exceeds $600.
Squint

It is so much easier to steal your identity and money with a paper check than with your credit card number.
Your check has your name, address, sometimes your driver’s license #, routing #, account #, bank name, etc.

Credit cards carry theft protection.

I can honestly say that I haven’t written a check in well over 20 years, and don’t see ever doing it again.

It’s the the 21st century, adjust with technology or be left behind.

The banks have to watch for people using structured transactions as it might be someone trying to get around that minimum amount rule. Then they report those transactions to the Feds. The Feds invariably will seize your bank account and it could take you years and untold amounts of lawyer fees to get your money back if ever. A lot of people fell into that rabbit hole already too. Countless horror stories about it abound out there. The worst one was a bank that drug cartel people were using to stash money in safety deposit boxes etc. law abiding customers all lost their money when the Feds seized it all.

But, at least you'll have control of YOUR WORLD!! You don't have to conform to the rest of the world.
Don't like the way folks do business, don't do business with them!!
Just because ALL the sheep run in a herd, doesn't mean you have to be one of them.
Check out WHO the sheep herders are.

Yes that is true. But worse is that unless that bank has a lot of powerful leftist political elites as customers then you lose your money in it too. The bank the Feds saved had a lot of political elite customers and they gave them all of their money back not just up to the maximum $400,000.

Not a fan of checks since hearing about check washing. Not comfortable handing over my name, account number, and routing number. I remember when it was common for checks to also have your address and social security number on them. Just yikes.

Credit cards are just as insecure, but at least I see a transaction post as pending in near real time rather than wait for someone to go deposit a check, or wait for USPS to slow walk it to the bank, then wait the processing time for it to clear.

Muska; you've been here since 2018 and have almost 2600 posts???
I, too, only deal with cash or checks. My credit cards are only used for hotel rooms and gas when I'm on a long trip. And, I certainly do not do any financial transactions on-line!
And yet, I've been here since 2003, although I only have about 800 posts. The only things I can't read or respond to are in the Premium Member section. I would gladly get a premium membership if they would take a check, but they don't, so - No big deal.
I have tried several time to join? I even sent my visa number and was told it never came? I am worried sick that it may have fell into the wrong hands. I was informed that it wouldn't be exposed out side of their hands but if it wasn't received how could they know? I am a neanderthal on computers. We didn't have them when I went to school?
