I think I have an astigmatism in my aiming eye as a small aperature is starting to look kind of egg shaped to me. Also I have a floater in my eye that is dead center on the sights. I need a large hole in an aperature sight to see a target well. The little holes and the floater make it very difficult for me to use a small aperture. Just from long experience, I like the sight opening of a GI rifle, about .10-inch, if I haven't forgotten. That's about the size I use on my civilian rifles. Don't own any scoped rifles. The bigger hole in the hunter aperature would work well for me, too.

My wife has the same sight problem you do. I know how hard it is for her to see and I feel for you. If you see a egg shape that sight won't work. I wish I could let you look through the bigger one on mine. Ron

a prescription change could help the egg look.

take your peep off gun and take it to eye doctor, thats what i did.
