On a TC Renegade can you put a flintlock lock on a stock that had a caplock on it without any major modifications to the stock? Also, Is there any other reason you would not be able to do this? Thanks

Renegade and Hawken caplocks can be converted quite easily...however, two things to be aware of:

1) Depending on how recently the Renegade was manufactured, you will probably have to spend 45 minutes carefully trimming/shaving/removing small amounts of wood in strategic places for the Flint lock assembly to drop all the way in; (tiny chisel or old sharpened screwdriver, dremel tool, etc)

2) Due to variances in manufacturing tolerances, it is possible that the tang inletting and the lock mortise inletting may result in the tang and lock positions being at opposite ends of their tolerances.....this can prevent the touch hole from lining up properly with the pan on the Flint lock.

I've converted a few of my Hawkens, but one caplock could not be converted for this reason.
