Go to .22Sharpshooter website and purchase the cap maker tool for 49.95 and the Prime-All compound for 19.95 . It comes with instructions how to use it. Or you can simply soak red German roll caps in water, peal off the red paper and scrape 8 dots into the cap. Pack it down with a wooden match stick. I use about 1 dot of aluminum powder in mine to make them really hot. Seal it with 1 drop of acetone or alcohol and allow to dry 24 hrs. There are videos out there on how to use the stuff. I recommend watch them first.

ok thanks

We should all remember who all is gouging and all who are solid gold. Myself ... I will never do business with the gougers again.

Hope they made enough being overprice stuff during all this "uncle Joe" bull. I for one will not ever return to them.

We need to put together a list of the blood suckers and spread the word so we can boycott the bustards.

In all honesty reading here, I have read in posts where folks have ordered 5,000 caps at at time, which leads to hoarding and leading to supply and demand price increases. Look close to home for your lists to whom to add and whom have been blood sucker hoarders.

The folks at MidwayUSA are good people. Unfortunately they too are out of caps. They were out of black powder too, but in the last few weeks now have a supply. Their price is reasonable and they are limiting orders to 2 lb per person to ensure they can supply as many people as possible....with the hazmat fee it does make the price high but it is available and they are not price gouging people.

Thanks for the directions, Wolf! Much appreciated!

What thickness of brass do you use?

I find this particularly annoying. Many smaller online sellers are actually shipping no-no's (including caps, powder and live ammo) via flat rate USPS with no concerns whatsoever. Many seem to see it as open defiance and those who actually respond to questions about cheep (or free shipping) get nasty fast.
Wait until they get to payer lawyer fee's for their felony prosecutions never mind the fines then possible jail time with definite loss of any firearms rights.

Now why do you need 2300 caps? That’s why none of the rest of us can get any....

When my wife and I were skirmishing more than we do now, shooting individual matches and practicing on the side we went through more than that # per year and didn't feel that was excessive or that we were hoarding. I haven't bothered to check but I believe I have at least 4000 musket caps and nearly 2000 #11s on hand now and these were bought long before any shortage came up and not in a panic.

It seems kind of strange that Toy caps are much more volatile and more apt to ignite than percussion caps, yet they are not bound to the same Hazmat regulations as percussion caps are. The Prime-All compound is not bound by such restrictions because it is inert until the components are mixed. That is how they can ship it USPS. I have bought German roll caps and had great success with them in my homemade caps. They have shipped too me USPS. Now I don’t sell live caps but if I did, If I took that same component from the German roll caps and transferred it into a brass hull, and tried to ship it, I would be in violation of the law if I shipped it any other way but UPS ground Hazmat.

When we were kids we used to ignite roll caps by scratching them with our thumbnail. 😱 Don't ask why but we were kids. We couldn't hide the fact we were doing it as our thumbnail would be black from the flash. I've never been able to set off a percussion cap with my thumbnail. 😀

Yep, people just don’t understand about things like that. People list civil war bullets on eBay. But if I take that same bullet and attach a paper tube, and fill it with black sand, it is now a cartridge and a firearm accessory and therefore the listing is removed. I can buy brass sheeting on eBay but if I shape it into a #11 unprimed inert cap it is forbidden as a firearm accessory. But if I call it a Nipple protector cap, then that is ok. It’s all about politics and semantics.

Waiting to see any being prosecuted. These bozo's know the postal police are unable to do much but make threats and occasionally come down on baddies when they need PR.
