I would prefer to use lead round balls. If that's not an option would ball bearings "work". I'm looking at getting a 4 bore and can't find a mold let alone precast round balls.
 
I thought about that. I'm going to make a rod with really high power magnets (that can lift 20") and use that as a ball grabber. This is mostly a wall hanger and turkey gun anyways.
