Cardboard wads

Just wondering if anyone has ever tried cutting cardboard discs out of cereal boxes to use between powder and bullet or PRB?

I use these for wadding in smoothbores. Cereal Boxes, soda case material…as long as the paper is heavy and dense it works.

You'll want them slightly oversized. They should fit tight.

I prefer felt lubed with lanolin or crisco.

Greg Y is offering great advise…I use an Arch Punch that cuts out cards that are slightly oversized compared to my bore. Nice snug fit

I bought a set of arch punches from harbor freight. I use the 5/8” punch for my smoothbores- they’re both 20 ga.
I use old primer boxes for cards I can get quite a few from a single box.

I use them in multiples between the powder and ball or bullet. They are also useful as a card over shot in either a muzzleloading shotgun or as a card over the shot when reloading shot shells especially with small shot.
