I got a slip in my mailbox that said “package too heavy for delivery “. When I took the slip to the PO the lady behind the counter said “So you’re the one “

I have been sent USPS flat rate boxes of lead. As long as they do not weigh over 50 pounds they are deliverable. The small box full weighs about 20-25 lbs.

I just bought a .735 mold….$88…. Handles… 44 shipping and handling $10, total $132
Lead is 3+shipping
A pound will make about twelve ball, so a hundred ball would use about eight pounds, total about twenty five dollars.
From track I can get these for twenty dollars for 25 ball
So one hundred ball cost as much as a mold, forty ball as much as handles seventy five ball buys the lead to have made three hundred ball.
So….
Electric cost. Less then a buck
Time. Three hours????
My times free. I don’t do this instead of work. I find it fun. Running ball isn’t as much fun as range or hunting, but I enjoy it.
I don’t shoot as often as I would like. So my new musket when I get it will take me some time to pay for my casting kit.
I’d rather cast then buy ball.
