Had a chance this afternoon to sneek up to the hunting camp and try for a trout. This one is 14 inches long and it was pretty thick and fat.It was snowing quite heavily at the time, those big fat wet flakes ,the kind that comes down in April up here in the north.
It took a Mickey Finn Streamer.

What caliber streamer, how much powder ya use, what kinda patchin, and last but not least, how fer were ya? :haha:  Bill

Halftail,

I'm jealous, trout season doesn't open in NH until the last saturday of April. Now ya just need to find some fresh fiddleheads to go with yer trout!

Don

Don,
I never ate a Fiddlehead before.Don't the strings kinda get balled up in yer Mounth?
Seriously though...Are they some kinda young fern?

That is one beautiful Brookie! GREAT JOB!! I have only caught a handful of them while on vacation out west a few years ago, I think they are gorgeous.

A brookie on a Mickey Finn. Boy, that brings images and memories that warm the cockles of my heart. My favorite fish and my favorite streamer. Just made for each other.

I have a favorite little stream where wild brook trout still can be found, and a 14" is grounds for real celebration.

Congratulations.
