I’ll be darned. My wal mart had em at the same price today. They had about 10 tins on the rack. I didn’t grab them all but grabbed 4. They didn’t have a limit but That will get me through for a long time and leave a few for others who may stumble on them. Thanks for posting. I wouldn’t have checked if I hadn’t seen it posted here.

One of our local sports shops carries a lot of muzzleloading supplies and was shocked that a tin of caps was going for $11.99.

I can't stand walmart, but just checked mine and sure enough they had them too. They were $5.32 per tin limit 3 per customer. They were behind the glass with the ammo. Had cans of Pyrodex , 777 pellets, pyrodex, pellets, and some firestick thingy also. So, Ohio had them and here in Indiana had them, if you're in the midwest try checking your local WM if you need them.

Bisley john, you may have to pay more for USA percussion caps but I bet you get better deals on gun flints. They obviously don't work on cap and ball revolvers but on the other hand pistols and shoulder arms that are flint don't depend on nipple huggers.

Nope; marked " MADE IN USA" just like the ones from my local gun shop from a few years ago.

Walmart orders/contract get filled and get filled first; been told by people in the know. Got some there last year but it was in late August.

Just as Cabelas/Bass Pro gets first dibs or seconds on manty items, that's why they had caps last month at many of their stores and one could have ordered on line and had them sent to your local store for pick-up. It never ceases to amaze me how some get offended because some one else got a good deal, or found a store where an item was available, next thing you know your accused of being a hoarder. I say keep your eyes and ears open within your TAOR (Tactical Area of Responsibility), and a little reconnoitering doesn't hurt. One could choose to be selfish and keep their good deals to themselves, like the deal I found at the local show this past weekend.

Just ordered musket caps from Toby at Travelers. He is out of caps. And they cost more before shipping.

All good, I'm just desperate. I might have found a guy locally that converted to a 209 primer. He thinks he might have a can laying around. I'm also going to ask my local Walmart if they can have some shipped to them. Thanks again!

My local Was mart told me to come up with the UPC from one of the stores(Walmart) and they can probably get in some percussion caps. Can you come up with a UPC for me? Would really like to give this a try> Thanks

You may want to check a couple of Walmarts. Some get them in and others don’t. You may have better luck at one in a rural area than one in the middle of an urban are. This is especially true it the store doesn’t carry much in shooting stuff.

I found some in southwest Ohio. I wonder when they were manufactured? They look fresh, not old stock.

Buy the kit and start making your caps. It’s not that hard, split the cost of the die with a friend and make a night of it. I don’t think it’s gonna get any better folks.
