Checked two nearby WallyWolrds and no go on caps. Cap poor in Dallas Ft Worth so far.
The NMLRA has about 13 thousand members; I wonder how many muzzleloaders are out there that are not members? Interesting thought.that is because tens of thousands of guys bought several years worth
I live near a major metro area; no such supply at my local Wally's. Guess out in the more country areas, I see something like this. I can't even see a Wally that has real .22 rifles or that shotgun they sell.Yesterday the clerk at Walmaert sporting goods counter said that some of the muzzleloadingView attachment 151296g supplies began arriving on Thursday.
that is a real good price wish they were in the 2 walmarts around me
local walmart had five and I bought them all, will last years for meYou have better control than I do; I would have bought several years worth. It's been a long time since I've seen any.
That's the reason people can't find them when one person buys 5 years worth at a timelocal walmart had five and I bought them all, will last years for me
Not quite 5 years for me...more like 6 months. I already gave away 2 of those tins I picked up last weekend. Also...shooting 3-4 days a week & allowing friends to shoot them too, the ones I bought will all be gone by Christmas 2022.That's the reason people can't find them when one person buys 5 years worth at a time
Yep, but you're not the average shooter either though. I quoted a different person, not exactly sure why you quoted me on that response? He went from buying a 209 primer adapter, to buying every tin of caps that Walmart got in. Completely different use case scenario than your high volume shooting. Not quite 5 years for me...more like 6 months. I already gave away 2 of those tins I picked up last weekend. I think it's CCI fulfilling their Walmart contract, may have been sitting in a warehouse for the past six months until this time when hunting stuff starts getting put out. Lots of smoke around them not producing any new batches for a while, muzzleloader shooters shooting caps is a pretty infinitesimal share of their production. They're making money hand over fist on centerfire stuff right now. Not sure their shareholders would like them to stop that. We can only hope though...I mean, is it too much to ask for #11 Magnums while they're at it? LolGentlemen and ladies ..There is hope ..my nearby Walmart put out 20 tins of CCI #11 today around noon ..went by after I got my work done .. 9 tins left ..$5.32 each ..after talking to the department head who says this is not their first "batch" and they expect more ..so I did buy 3 for me and 3 each for my two shooting buddies ..
I will say I (and I am sure others) have been bombarding CCI 2 or 3 times a month with complaints that whoever they have been dribbling out what percussion caps they have been shipping IS NOT WORKING as only the scalpers are getting them and profiteering them at 4/5 times suggested retail ..
Maybe ..just maybe CCI has made a choice and we WILL see a fair price and reliable(?) flow of caps !
