Frizzen spring weak? Won’t hold frizzen in closed position? Spring has to be wedged to do so? Are they available from somewhere?

Two Italian companies made reproductions of this 1766 Charleville. Lewis and Clark took a pair of the American made version copy (North and Cheney 1799) with them on the Voyage of Discovery. It was the two captains that carried them. Distinctive backwards frizzen spring. In the diares Lewis called them "horse pistols" due to the large .69 caliber.
