Where are you fellows getting those .520/.525 RBs?
Buy? Cast? (mould?)
Pete
My .520s were Hornady's...bought several boxes from a small business that was shutting down a few years ago.

You can google for them and/or contact some of the BP supply houses...you won't find them at walmart, dicks, kamart, etc...not a common size

I guess Log Cabin Shop has those .520 balls also I stock. Ask Sherry for them, she really knew everything and they have nearly everything in stock.

Regards

Kirrmeister

Log Cabin had both .520 and .526. So...I have three to try.
The GM barrel arrived; it was "almost drop-in". The hooked breech was a few thousandths too wide to fit into the GPR.(.388 as opposed to .382 for my .50 cal Lyman barrel). I had to file off the excess to have it fit. It does. Wasn't able to shoot this weekend past.

Say CB, do you manage to get any hunting done in Ireland with your smokers?
Can you hunt with ball there too?
Err what I mean is do you reguardless and if so how goes it? :hatsoff:

Britsmoothy.

Indeed, I was out last Sunday and got four ducks. The others with me had modern shotguns, my 12 bore flinter was every bit as effective. I got a few rabbits over the summer but with all the rain my outing were scarce.

Over here we're not allowed shoot deer with anything but a modern centre fire. The only PRB shooting I do is at targets.

CB: Off my original topic but since I see where you are located....a small bit of family history. My grandfather came from Wexford, Redmondtown(sp?), I believe.
Pete Doyle

Pete: Can't say I've heard of Redmondstown but it could be a townland rather that a town or village. It is probably in the south of the county with a name like that, anywhere else it would probably be called Ballyredmond. Bally is the Irish word for town and as South Wexford was "anglised" long before the north, I suspect it is in the south.

The name Doyle is very common in the county.

CB: Thanks for the reply. That's the name we were always told. He came to the States over 100 years ago and you know how time fogs things.
